I have recently acquired a Walther TP ( not the TPH ) and know very little about the gun other than the basic specs. It should arrive soon and I would really appreciate any tips or useful info .
The TP (Taschenpistole, or "Pocket Pistol") was made in .25ACP from 1961-1971 (11,253 made) and in .22LR from 1967-1969 (3,417 made). It is a single-action, fixed barrel, striker-fired, blowback pistol. The firing pin sticks out at the rear of the slide to indicate when the pistol is cocked. The thumb safety, with a 90 degree rotation, exposes a red dot when off-safe; it locks the firing pin and trigger when engaged. It was typically supplied with two six-round magazines (one with a flat metal base and one with a plastic finger rest) that were held in the gun by a heel catch at the rear base of the butt. The TP is C&R eligible.
There's more info on the Walther site: http://www.carlwalther.com/tp.htm#
(Beware of sticker shock at the cost of factory replacement mags!!!)
