So what are my options here? Ideally, I'd be able to find and afford one of that limited run of of genuine USRAC/Winchester 16" 92 Trapper carbines. Those were slick, but expensive, and aren't being made now.
I want a .45 Colt, btw.
Winchester 94 is NOT an option. Hate that spring loaded trigger. Won't touch it.
Marlin might be in the running. 20" heavy barrel a bit much though.
I'd prefer a 16"-18" round barrel in my lever carbine, but 20" will do. No more than 20", though.
Also prefer that if it has a 20" barrel, the magazine holds a corresponding number of rounds. You listening, Marlin? (No matter how long the barrel, all of Marlin's centerfire lever rifles hold no more than 10+1.)
I know Navy Arms is importing some nice '92s in .45 Colt, but who else? No 1866s or 1873s, either. Not strong enough. A modern 1892, even an import, can handle the modern hunting loads in .45 Colt.
What about the Rossi Pumas? Anybody had any experience with those?
Oh, and since we're doing this, let's see your favorite levergun pics!
