Want to add to collection

My 3 S&W revolvers consist of a late 40s 38 Military and Police, a Highway Patrolman 28 and a 629 SW 44 in SS. I've seen some model 13 and 65 which really appeal to me . I really like the older stuff. What are some others revolvers you would recommend ?

The "Holy Grail" for S&W guys is lowly Model 28-NOTHING. The 'Combat Magnum' 19 and K-framed .22 are kinda kool especially .22WRM version. Don't forget goofy newer stuff. Just picked up 37-2 DAO 'Airweight' for very good price.

The Model 13 is an excellent gun but I don't know it's a collector's item. Seems to me a good SW collection might include a Model 10, maybe a model 15, a Model 19 and a Model 29 (Dirty Harry).

I recently picked up my first.....a 6" Model 57 41 Magnum. What a great gun. You need to be a reloader to really shoot it though.....which I am.

I really like the 41 Mag. I've shot target loads and full loads and it's a real hoot either way....and very accurate.

I think my first revolver really has me hooked!

I will be keeping my 1970's era Model 15 (.38 Special) and Model 18 (.22) Combat Masterpieces for a long, long time.

A pinned barrel Model 15-# Combat Masterpiece is a S&W classic. Carried by lawmen all over this country, shot in countless competitions, it is a must have in any S&W collection. And of course...if one is good then two must be better...

Any P&R'ed model. Collect by Model, then barrel length, then finish.

A K-22 and K-38 would be two nice additions to your collection. So would a Model 10, a Model 13 (here I would go with a 3" round butt model), as well as a Model 19.

Right next to that I would want an original blue Mod. 36 Chiefs Special and an early stainless Mod. 66 or 67. If I really had a lot of luck I would finish it out with a nickel Mod. 19, also 4 inch.

Was fortunate enough to find this PD Stamped 66-1 through my local FFL (who I alerted to the fact I was always looking for S&W Classics). I'll keep the grips but more than likely buy a pair of Ahrends so I can dress her up on occassion

Man, where to begin?
The 13, is really nothing more than a vanilla model 10 with fixed sight, only in a heavy barrel and chambered in 357.. I owe two, one in 3" round butt, and a 4"... Both are really sweet shooters...

The 19 is the holy grail of combat revolvers... own three, 2.5", 4", and 6", all three were made in stainless as well as M-66's, got a couple of them too..

The Combat Masterpiece series, the K-22,K32, and K-38 are incredible guns as well.

(if anyone knows where I can get my hands on a 6" K-32 without refinance on my house I would like to hear from you, it would complete that set..)

in the day, when revolvers were king, Smith did it just about all... there are so many variants it would be near impossible to nail them all down...

If you like N frames..
6 1/2" 29's and 57's are hard to come by, but really nice... Model 1955 Target's, 1917 in 45ACP, 38-44 triple lock, any of the 5 screw frames..... Man where to go from here... The 58 was a great utility piece in 41 mag, plain heavy barrel, fixed sights, great finish.. as Previously stated, the Model 28 "Highway Patrolman" 1st made in 4" for Texas DPS, had matt/dull finish... Model 27 in 357 a 27 is basically a pretty blued 28,with a checkered top strap, offered in 4,6,and 8 3/8" (Those are rare, as are the 8 3/8 29's and 57's.. a few folks bought them and seemed to hang on to them, but they were not big sellers and that length was dropped.. don't see them offered much as used in shops, except Gun Broker maybe..

I like you much prefer the older ones, early 80's back....

The L frame was introduced around 1980 or so, it was mostly in .357 caliber back then, they were the 586, and the stainless 686.. assorted variants and lengths... They were a bit heavier than my K frames, therefore not that appealing to me, because of the extra weight..But I still own two.. A 4" 686, and a 6" PPC model 686, came with an adjustable frond AND rear sight... (three allen set screws that allowed you to pre-set your sight for dead on at 7 thru 15 yard line, a 25 and 50 yard "Neck Hold"...

There are JUST SO MANY... which to I want,... the blonde, the redhead, the brunette.... Smith and Wesson Pistols are ALL Centerfold material in that age group..
