I have a mega pack (200) of Remington UMC 223 45 gr JHP.
I would like to reload the cases with the same load but am having trouble finding out whose 45 gr bullet they are loading and what powder and charge they are loading.
Any info appreciated
thanks

You'll never know what powder they were loaded with. Just pick a suitable 45 Gr bullet and find a suitable load from your reloading manual.

You might consider going with 55 Gr bullets.

My best suggestion would be to run some through a chronograph and see what the velocity is in your rifle. Then using some 45 grain JHP .224 bullets that are similar try and duplicate the velocity. While this will not accurately duplicate the pressure curve it will get you close. You can also pull a loaded factory round and weigh the charge. If you don't have a chronograph try to beg or borrow one.

Bottom line is per Walkalong I doubt you will ever know Remington's exact recipe.

Here's a picture of factory Remington 230 gr RN with plated bullet pulled apart. Can't tell what powder it was as they often use bulk powder not like the canister type us reloaders buy by the pound. There was 8.4 gr charge of "something"
