Well, I had alot of fun shooting my "new" 686. Cleaning time was rough. The gun looked almost new before and i want that finish back.

I cleaned the bore and cylinders just fine (with proper brush and copper cutter). However, the outside of the gun looks like it has water spots on it. I used slip2000 Gun Lube on it. Was that incorrect? Do I need some other sort of gun oil to get that really nice shine?

Also, I put 2 very thin and small scratches just above the handle that I want to buff out. Any suggestions or tools I can get to work on this without damaging the stainless?
