Wanting new slim 9mm

I tried the Shield but wound with a Kahr CM9 when I want to pocket carry. Very surprised at how accurate the little pistol is.

Kahr, all of the 9's are thin. The ruger is thin, but has the worse wobble in the trigger of any 9mm or any other gun I have ever held. The shield is thin also. The MAK is thin, but heavy. The xds is a nice size but the problems follow it, also the Solo, but it's expensive. Taurus slim, is very slim, and appears to work well.

I find the Glock 26 a tad wide but manageable. The experts always tell us not to buy a gun smaller that ur hand. And 4 me, that's no Nano, it's a Glock 26.

+1 on the Taurus 709 Slim. I carry mine in a Sneaky Pete holster.
Another +1. If you have big hands, get the Pearce grip extensions. I have one on each of my mags. Pistol is carried IWB in a Tagua universal holster. I'm 6'3", 235, and with the grip extensions, it feels great in the hand. Hardly even feel it when I'm wearing it.

Owned a Glock 26...it was like carrying around a clothes iron. Nice weapon...just not a good conceal carry.. S&W Shield is perfect for a CC weapon, in my estimation. Lite weight, slim, less than an inch wide. A prime backup piece for the majority of American law enforcement.

I have a Nano that I like a lot. But I bought a G26 recently and was surprised to find, that for me, it carries just about as easily as the Nano in an IWB holster. I don't do pocket carry, or the Nano would win, obviously. I love little single-stack 9mm's, but I have discovered bigger pistols aren't as hard to conceal as I expected. Even my G19 will hide just fine with jeans and a t-shirt.

I chased a few small single stack 9mm's but still my S&W 3913NL works very well for me IWB. I do like carrying the XDS, the trigger is sweet, I just hope Springfield doesn't mess it up with the recall fix. With the XDS in recall I went to carrying my Glock 27 and found it quite easy to carry IWB or OWB for me. Recently discovered a Cross Breed type holster, love them.

Occasionally carry an LC9 when circumstances dictate something more discrete than the BHP.
Nice pistol.
Tried the Kahr and the Shield, didn't quite do it for me. LC9 does.
Your mileage amy vary.

I have carried a Glock 26 for 5 years and just recently moved to a Sig 938. It is amazing how such a subtle size difference can translate to a significant perceived increase in ease of every day carry.

I also carry a Kahr P45, Berretta 86 and Colt Defender on occasion as well, however the 938 by far requires the least effort in terms of belt selection, holster selection, and cover garment in order to achieve secure, comfortable carry for me.

So far in my quest for a comfortable EDC, I have also tried the following without the same success: Taurus PT145, S&W CS45, H&K P7 (Expensive experiment :), Glock 19, Walther PPK, AMT Backup .380, and S&W 642.

I've been the most pleased with the Sig 938 and Kahr P45 - For my body type and typical dress, the slimmer firearms seem to carry easiest.

I had the exact same thing happen... thought I wanted a Shield, got impatient in trying to find one(they just came out at the time), I wanted to try a CW9... well a CM9 was what was in stock, I figured it was for CCW and a smaller gun would be more likely to go with me anywhere... I got a 7rd extended magazine for it(I can't say I really recommend it though... more below) for a full grip if I felt the need.

It's silly accurate. The only upgrade I made was a Trijicon front tritium sight... it's an easy screw-in install and it is worth the $50 or whatever I paid.

I've found that my 7rd extended magazine in my CM9 is ammo sensitive, I'm not too keen on trusting it for self defense. It has a tendency to cause ammo nose-dives into the feed ramp. Some searching on Kahr Forums shows this to be a VERY common problem. 7rd mags are no problem in the CW9s near as I can tell. There are some issues with followers to check if you experience problems, but this is not the case with mine. The 6 rounders are 100% reliable in about 600 rounds between the two that I have. I've got maybe another 50 through the 7rd mag.

I also shoot a Commander size 1911, I was SO impressed with how well I shoot my little CM9(I shoot it just as well/better than my 1911) that I will probably be buying either a TP9 or CW9... or something similar in .40 or .45... not really sure but I REALLY like them now.

That said I've shot an XDS in .45 and it was super tame so I imagine it would be excellent in 9mm.

I have not had problems shooting my CM9 like some others have... I've put 200 rounds through it in about 45-60 min with no real problems, but I have some thick mechanic's hands so maybe that has something to do with it:uhoh: Bonus is that it is relatively tolerable against bare skin if you must carry IWB without an undershirt. Gets uncomfortable sitting for a long period of time in some positions, but I can wear it all day without a problem if I'm up and about. 5'10" 215lbs for reference.

Hopefully some of that is helpful... good luck!

Go to the range and see if they will allow you to shoot a few of them. "Where I shoot, they are good with things like that" especially if you are buying a gun. They even allow me to dump a couple of mags free of charge, when I have done work on a gun, and just want to make sure it works properly. A good gun shop should allow you to try a mag or 2 in a few guns to help you make a choice. As long as you occasionally purchase something.

I had a LC9 for awhile and like it a lot. I only sold it because I needed the cash. I don't share others' opinions that it was uncomfortable to shoot. It's a subcompact and felt great for what it was... a tiny 9mm pocket concealable pistol.
