I've got a Western Field that I'm having a hard time crossing over to the Savage/Stevens model, I keep finding conflicting info. I would like to know the makers model, age and value if possible, gun is very tight and in good condition. THANK YOU!!!
Stamped on receiver:
Ward's Western Field
Model 52-SB311-TA
Other Side:
Model 311A
Bottem of Barrel and Receiver Stamped with "KT"

Montgomery Ward (Western Field) referred to this gun as Model SB312 and it's current book value is excellent condition is around $270.00 in the Trader's Guide.

Correction: Disregard the last post.

Referring back to your post I noted something that I overlooked in your message. You noted that it is the Model 52. If so, it was made around 1954 for Montgomery Ward by Savage-Stevens. It is basically a 311 in 2 3/4" chambering. Value at $226.00 in excellent condition.

I had one of those years ago....

it had a plastic stock. Otherwise, it was identical to the Stevens 311 I also had.....chris3

keep in mind values vary by region. I michigan 311's can fetch up to 375 but sell pretty regular for 275 to 300
