Wards Western Field Model 52-SB311-TA.

A friend of mine recently bought this at an estate sale. He asked me if I knew anything about it, regretfully I dont know much. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them, Im assuming "Wards" refers to Montgomery Wards. Could it possibly mean that mosssberg or another major manufacturer made this side by side shot gun? Its a 12ga 2-3/4 chamber 30" barrel. He does need a new butt stock for it as it is cracked near the tail of the receiver, any suggestions on an affordable stock replacement? I havent replaced any stocks in my time.

Any thoughts?

Can't find it in Harley's book, but most of the WF SxSs were rebadged 315s and 311s. Betcha this is a 311.

I have awestern field in 20 gauge sxs it is a fine gun as far as I am concerned. Not sure on the stock replacement but it is perfect for the truck or woods...

Research the Stevens 311 and 315

Yeap, 311. 30" barrels could very well be choked F/F. Gunstocks inc also carries a nice replacement stock.

It's a rare 311 12ga that doesn't have a cracked stock....

i am working on a stock for my 311 right now. good luck on finding one without having to wait and wait

Thanks for the replies. All I can do is let my buddy know what I found, and that a stock is not right around the corner.

Also, I should probably tell him to have it checked out by a smith before attempting to fire it. I thought it was a given, but better safe than sorry.
