Warning on lead fallout at gun clubs

If they are paying someone $23,000,000 to cleanup a shooting range that sure raises a lot of questions about either their sanity or level of corruption.

$23,000,000 does seem a bit steep.
If there are 1000 tons left, at the current price of lead that I found (.8325 c/lb), that is worth about $1.6 million. I wonder how much they removed for $23 million?

FYI: we hired a firm to come in and cleanup our shot-fall areas. We made money; they made money.

What does it cost to have it cleaned up?

Last range I knew had their skeet/trap range lead mined, they took 50% and the range got 50%; I think the total dollars was around $50,000 in terms of lead recovered.

So, what about the lead keels in all the sunken boats out there? We should all be dying! Oh Noes!
