The date is set at June 10th. 9 of you have joined the MSN group so have a lot of information.

This is a weekend campout shoot. Hopefully this is enough notice for those guys that needed to take time off.

So you don't have to sift through the other thread here is the skinny version.

We will be up there all weekend so come up for the weekend or the day. 2.5 hrs max from Seattle, 3.5 hrs max from Spokane.

Location: About 25 minutes West South/West of Ellensburg by the LT Murray Wildlife area.

Plenty of flat ground for a tent or RV. 6 miles of Forest service and green dot roads for access after the pavement ends.

PM me for access to the MSN group which is private and not listed. I sent an invite to most of you but it might have been discarded at trash. This has more detailed information on location, things to do, potential inventory, etc...

Headcount

Not quite a month away but a lot closer. We need to start finalizing a headcount so we can get food stuff in order. Currently sitting at around 10 guys and gals. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Looks good Pops, I know a lot of that gear is already packed but you don't need to bring the kitchen sink. I will post my list shortly.

On another note, I drove up on Saturday with the family to check out access and do a little spring cleaning. No major snow to report and the road is really dry not a slick spot to be found. The wind was blowing pretty good but a great day none the less. I am really looking forward to the 10th.

Bump for the weekend. It looks like about 10 guys so far at different times are going to be able to make it. We will post pics etc... Hopefully some more guys can make it, let me know.

Hey pops,
We're almost neighbors! I live between Moses Lake and Quincy. Maybe we'll do some gun tradin' someday.

Hey Bob,
Can I come to the get together this weekend?:D

I'll shoot you an e-mail.

Best, John

Glad to have you on board John. It will be good to see you again. I responded to the email. Let me know if you have any problems with the info..

Anyone else up for a little fun this weekend???????

I'll see you this w/e, John. I shoot occasionally at the Ephrata range (note to self: "Self, renew your membership, dummy!.)

Hope it goes well for you all and the weather is favorable. Regrettably, the only time I can get off from work is gonna be the following weekend for my daughter's college graduation, so I must reluctantly miss this gathering. Good shootin' folks.

I just got back from the camp/shoot weekend. WOW, what a great time. My thanks to Bob (polishrifleman) for making it possible and to all those who attended. Great time and great company. Nice guys with guns just go together I guess. I sincerely hope Bob can put together another camp/shoot next year.

Thanks again one and all...................John

I'm back from the shoot, unpacked as far as I'm going to today and sitting down. MAN, I'm bushed :D That was one great gathering. Good (new) friends, good food, shooting, freezing rain, hail, sun, shooting, good food, swapping li...stories, ...it just doesn't get any better! :D:D:D

What a week-end, and thank-you Bob. I was a bit uneasy at first, not knowing anyone and not wanting to do something that was frowned upon.

Well, by the time I left, I realized I had just made 6 new great friends.

A week-end with friends I'll never forget.

Thanks again Bob.

I unfortunately had a pet emergency this past weekend. I can now tell you definitely that having a gastric endoscopy performed upon a cat at the Lynnwood VCA Animal Specialty Center and Emergency Hospital costs $ 675. Cash.

Weekend Synopsis:

Well, I thought I should write something up since we are still working on the pics.

Friday at 4pm the first of us show up and start unpacking and getting ready for the other guys. I hike up the hill to make a phone call and while I am gone JParker shows up ready to live out of the Jeep Liberty, and about an hour later in rolls Pops to the bottom of the driveway trailer in tow and he slows down  can't get the trailer up the driveway (a little slick due to the recent rain that moved in and then out) right behind Pops is DeanC a pleasant surprise since he wasn't expected until Saturday morning. Pops backs the trailer over to the side and we switch balls and rigs and pull it up to camp.

The rest of the evening is spent helping each other set up, unload, talk and wait for my brother in law. The 6 currently in camp get along well, as DeanC mentioned it is always a little slow at first but a campfire, willingness to help, and several common bonds help with that. The brother in law shows up and dinner is had and then up to the fire pit for an evening of telling truthful stories:D and star gazing.

Saturday Morning starts out beautiful, coffee is hot, and Pops's cuisine is excellent. Up to the range we go, targets, bowling pins, chrono, a couple tarps to catch brass, guns and ammo:evil: . Long guns to the right handguns to the left. I spent a majority of my time with the long guns but it looked like the handguners were quite content shooting paper and spinning pins. We had several big bore lever actions an 8mm and a couple down in the 270 and 25-06 one guest had 2 .50cal Bp's and they were a blast:D , the .22 rifles were over with the handgunners.

At about noon Pops went down to check on dinner (dutch oven by the fire), I think that is a likely story but thats what he said. I think he has a direct connection to the maker because as soon as he left the skies opened up into a half hour plus hail storm followed by rain:( . Man were we scrambling, luckily DeanC's son had shown up to shoot and brought a 10x10 tent that saved the day. I head back to camp to check on Pops (he's in the cab of his pickup) and check on the fire and anything else left out that might have gotten wet. The rest of the guys pack up and come in as well. We dry out, snack a little the weather clears and back up we go with the shotguns, clays, and thrower. What a blast I hadn't shot clays since a college rush function about 18 yrs ago:D .

We pack down for dinner and it's a culinary buffet. Pops and the pot roast, DeanC's deep fried chicken, ribs, and yes a little greens too. Back to the campfire and then we slowly roll off to bed. Sunday morning is great, another solid breakfast, coffee and then we start to break camp. Everyone got in and out ok, no one lost, and we left as friends. Sorry to those that couldn't make it but there will be a next time.
