Washington State Lead Shot Bill $6.00 Box Tax on Shotgun Shells

Washington state Rep. Ruth Kagi has filed a bill that would put a $0.24 per ounce excise tax on "toxic" or lead shot.The money would go to a wild Swan recovery account. This tax would add $6.00 To $7.00 to a box of 25 shotgun shells. This would drive many people away from the shotgun sports in Washington state due to the added expense!! I'm surprised Ginny Burdick didn't try this, with all the other gun bills she introduced here. Well, I wish y'all luck. If Washington falls, I'm sure Oregon will be next on the agenda....

Here is her bio page from the legislature http://www1.leg.wa.gov/house/kagi Notice that her #1 priority is "Prevention of harm to children". I will give you three guesses on exactly what that means.

She is also an active member in the Sierra Club so that means she is gonna go after shotgunners with both barrels so to speak. To her the shotgun is the most evil of firearms. Not only does it scare her poor wittle children, it also kills our feathered friends and spreads "poisonous" lead shot all over her precious wilderness, which was never meant to be touched by human hands dontcha know.

Her district covers the northern suburbs bordering Seattle and is strongly influenced by the same politics. I have the dubious honor of living right smack in her district too and I can assure you that I vote against her each and every chance I get to no avail.
