I have a WASP 22 short single shot deringer, kind of looks like a 1872 Model Deringer or a NAA mini, but is much smaller.I am looking for any info...THANKS :)

Here is a BAD pic it is below the keltec.I will get a better close up pic later.

It says .22short but is chambered for .22lr and fires them fine.It is marked serrfile WASP 22SHORT

It came with its box and a really neat ball chain carry device.

I can find no info..its the smallest gun I have ever owned save for my 2mm pinfires

its no air soft gun or blank gun for sure its a 22lr and the orange paint band is how it came NIB I have no clue ???

I thought that the orange barrel tips were a sign of toy guns. Some federal regulation so that police don't shoot kids.

Not saying that yours isn't legit, but I don't have the vaguest clue as to why a firearms manufacturer would do that to any gun.

It is weird and to add to the mix this gun was made before the laws about orange bands were ever made. Its also weird thats its marked 22short but is really chambered in 22lr.

From the tiny bit of info I have its a mid 1980s gun.Imported from italy ??? maybe serrifile was only in biz a short time very short.

The .22 short, long, and long rifle all have a heeled bullet, where the diameter of the bullet (and barrel) is the same as the diameter of the case (and chamber). Therefore, you can fit a .22 LR into a .22 short chamber, as long as the rifling doesn't make it too hard to push the bullet into the chamber, or actually hit the case. The gun may not be able to hold up to continuous use of the higher pressure .22 LR over the .22 short.

Wasp 22 short derringer

I just bought one of these guns from a friend of mine who used to have a pawn shop from i think the late sixties to about mid to late eightys.I bought it as a collector piece.Try finding one at the gun show.My friend thinks there were less than 10.000 made and he said thats probly the high end.Now to the nut cuttin. My box says Made in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA WASP 22short Traders International.Indian Trail NC.My derringer says 22 short TI Serrifile the other side of the derringer says WASP LANCASTER. CA. As for the orange on your gun is I think it was Originally made a 22 short then the company put the orange on the gun to destinguish it from real 22 shorts as long rifles my wasp will not take 22 long rifles at all only shorts.I bought it as a curio or collectors item last one he had gave 60 bucks for it and think i got a good deal.Precaution do not ever dry fire the weapons the safty is very fragile and you will snap it like a twig.I bought two Wasp from the same man with the saftys broke and sold them to a gun dealer friend of mine for the same money he bought them as curios to.I thought it would be neat to put this gun in a frame with old poker cards the dead mans hand. If your safty breaks you will have to get it fixed by a gunsmith which would probly cost more than the guns worth. The company was basically a fly by night company gun parts if you find them would be scarce.Hope this helps someone i've reserched the company and could find nothing but who knows some one might find some extra imfo at least i hope so i would like to know what year my gun was made mid eightys i think.Well hope this helps catch ya'll later happy shootin and be carefull
