Greetings,

I noticed the front sight has a pin that can retract (parallel to the canon and seems under spring) and goes in a groove in the front canted muzzle break.

What is the function of that pin?
if it helds the muzzle break, does that mean the muzzle break is screwed and not tac welded?

Thank you

Yep that is called a detent pin, its job is to hold the muzzle device in place as it is threaded. Unless you have a WASR that came from the AWB times your muzzle break is not welded on.

To remove your muzzle device simply press in the pin enough to clear the device, and unscrew the device. But note the threads are opposite of the standard, so you turn clockwise to remove.

You can change one out in about 10 seconds flat.

I have no idea if that comp will work on a WASR or not, so I'll skip that.

Just wanted to say that they one you link to is pretty slick looking. If you do get it, be sure to give us (or at least me ;)) a report on how you like it, and if theres any noticeable differance in noise, muzze climb, etc compared to the WASR slant break.. I have a WASR also, and I have no complaints about the stock slant break, but there's nothing wrong with somethng that actually makes a good thing better, so.....

Greetings,

jrfoxx, do a google on youtube ak-47 compensator.
They have muzzle lift and flash tests with the JTAC47.
This one is like the JTAC-47 but with flash hinder too. Best on the market as of now. You won't make a mistake to buy it and install it for sure. there is a video on Youtube with a guy shooting his AK with the butt on his nose!

On another issue, I tried at lunch to remove the canted muzzle break and it did not move at all. I guess I'll have it removed by a gunsmith.

Thank you

The one you have listed has the correct threads of 14x1 left handed so yes it will work on the WASR

As far as the brake goes, just get some Kroil or other type of penetrating oil. Its just stuck on there tight apparently.

Also please make sure you are turning it the OPPOSITE way you would normally turn a threaded item to loosen it(that is what the left handed term refers to). So you need to turn it clockwise to loosen it.

Really there is no need to pay $40 to a gunsmith to unscrew something for you. It truly is that simple.

Watch this video, at :36 and 1:02 in you can see the guy pressing in the detent pin, and unscrewing the muzzle break to put in a new one.

Greetings,

I got the FSC47, but the thread does not fit on my WASR-10.

ANyone had that issue? Is it possible the thread is 1/2 x28 LH instead of 14x1 LH?

Thank you

While possible, it is improbable. Are you turning it in the correct (opposite from American style) direction?

Then again, there is always the possibility they sent you a muzzle device for an AR-15.

Highly, Highly unlikely that yours is threaded 1/2 x28 LH.

Standard for the Wasr-10 is 14x1 LH, I have never heard of one that was not in that thread. The only way yours would not be in that thread would be if it was a monumental screwup at the factory, or someone else owned the rifle and re-threaded it. Very unlikely.

More likely is the device manufacturer sent you the wrong one.

Greetings,

Went to the gunsmith. The thread on the AK is screwed up at the start. It works with the original muzzle break, but with but with no other. And the original muzzle break and the compensator are working fine on another AK thread.

The gunsmist will fix it easilly he said. Tomorrow I'll get my gun with the compensator. Yay!

Thank you
