I'm trying to get the stock off of my WASR-2 so I can put in my polymer side folder, but it won't budge. My WASR-10 wasn't this much of a pain, even though it was a poly side folder. There is absolutely zero play and is so tight the screws aren't really needed. Any ideas on how to get this thing out?

take the gun down. ( remove the cover, spring carrier etc) take out the screw (seems you got that already) if it wont wiggle loose. if theres room, stick a Big thick screw driver into the oval or rectangular hole. and pry.

option 2, much prefered if you dont want to damage the stock. do above. but put a long block of wood into the reciever end and see if you can hammer the stock out, via the wood block

Using the heel of your hand, or a rubber mallet, give the stock good bumps on the bottom and top, bumping the stock in a rearward motion.

The vibration will loosen the stock and will start moving it back out of the receiver.

I had to use a deadblow mallet as dfariswheel described to work mine off. It took a while - be patient, and just keep alternating rearward blows top-n-bottom.

I tried bumping up and down. Went till my hands couldn't take it anymore. And it still wouldn't move. BTW, Hoppy wins :D. Couldn't find a block of wood, so I used one of my X-Acto knives (without blade of course) and a hammer. Took a few blows before it would move, but I got it out. Thanks

ya, my methods not the most gentle. but i learned it when trying to tear apart a rommy G kit. that puppy wasnt budging with the wiggle method. and i actualy broke the tip of a screwdriver. seems like the laminated stock, laminated itself to the reciever or sumthing.
