Looking for suggestions on waterproof snake boots. Anyone and why? Had a pair of danners that leaked after just a few times out with them. Also read danger isn't American made anymore :/

I personally tested Magellan (from Academy) against a rattler. They worked. They got to be about 10 years old, still good soles on 'em, but the soles started coming off. I'd glue 'em on with shoe goo. Finally bought a pair of "Game Winner" from Academy to replace 'em, but they were good, water proof, and tested snake proof. Haven't snake tested the Game Winners, but they're like wearing waders up until the top of the rubber on the tongue. I like the zipper on the side, too. I leave the top of the laces tied, lace 'em up on the hooks, zip up, done. :D The toe on the Game Winner wraps around the boot, sole seems to be much better attached. Time will tell, I guess. They're only a couple of years old.

I have worn Lacrosse rubber boots for decades and so has my son. When he was younger, he got hit by a cottonmouth. They strike lower than a rattler. The rubber deflected that cottonmouth's bite.
I grew up where there were no poisonous snakes and don't look for them. If I ever got struck by one, I don't know anything about it.

+1 on the Mucks. Hope I never have to test them though! Very comfortable and I stay dry in them.

A friend of mine got struck by a cottonmouth while wearing Rocky snake boots. The fangs hung up in the fabric. He said he was never so scared until he kicked the snake off and killed it.

Thanks y'all for the replies! Sorry I haven't responded after asking. Looks like I got some researching to do. Thanks again for all the suggestions and input
