Hello I thought maybe someone out there might be interested in this. I shoot wax round balls in my pietta 51 navy .44. I have a r&d conversion cylinder in .45. Also uberti SA in .45 colt. I make my own black powder and reload my own primers. I have tried lots of different methods - prime all - matches -ping pong balls you name it. I have been using just paper roll caps and just 1 cap works great. I found a paper punch on amazon i believe. It looks like a little stapler and you can see where you're lining up the cap making it much quicker and easier to do a bunch while watching tv or such. The punch is 3/ 16ths and fits the primer cup with just a slight push. I found some 12mm round ball molds from etsy, made from silicone. I think they're for candy or resin projects. 6 cavity molds. This was years ago and they were around $1.20 or so. I have about 100 45 colt brass that i reuse. The brass and primers can be used over and over. I shoot in my basement because I have no where else. I hung a plastic 55 gallon barrel from its side and hang card board on the front, the wax stays inside and can be reused. I make my own black powder and use .3cc the smallest scoop. If i have some tougher cardboard i go to .5cc scoop. This is very cheap and i shoot a LOT. Not very much smoke and not very loud. I push the wax ball down on top of the primer. I know this might be silly to some but it works for me and I have fun. I can shoot 100 rounds for a buck or two and enjoy the process. I get an assembly line type of thing going. Remove anvil, pound out dent store in seperate containers. Get bout 50 done then put in cap reseat anvil. Later I'll prime cases add powder and ball. It can get tedious to do all steps at one sitting. If i could only shoot outside I would just fill the case up and not worry about it. I'm always on this forum haven't posted for years and got my knowledge for doing this from different people on here. I see different ideas for reloading primers and thought I would mention 1 paper roll cap works fine for black powder. Thanks everyone and maybe someone in the same situation as me can have some fun when they can't shoot any other way.
