It's moving again:

Does the Virginia Tech massacre show the need for more gun control in the United States?

Absolutely

Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

The only gun control that I think would need to be put into place was the fact that this kid was admitted to a mental health facility in 2005 and there was nothing in the NICS database under his file to reflect that. If such a thing were recorded he would've more than likely been unable to attain said handguns.

(Granted he would've probably attained them through illegal means, but it would've made it that much more difficult regardless.)

Aside from that, I voted no way. ;)

Done. This is a left-wing site. We're not losing by much . . . that's telling in itself.

You guys rock! Steadily moving in our favor:

Again - another biased poll.

1) The site is called CapitolHillBlue - no offense to our democratic friends on this board, but we know the general stance of Blue on guns. The validity of this survey would have been as bad as running it on the NRA website.

2) The options are completely biased. Either you don't give a damn, "No Way!" has an exclamation point, to make sure that those that say no seem arrogant about it. Leaving only the yes answer to to seem reasonable to most folks.

3) The site's top story right now is this:
http://www.capitolhillblue.com/cont/node/2301
- and frankly, I'd like to see that survey they refer to and how, if at all they establish cause with correlation. Could states with higher gun-ownership have higher populations? Does a higher level of population mean more people to potentially commit suicide? Other studies have come out trying to establish a link between suicide and income, suicide and location, suicide and profession/career, etc., etc. etc. Now guns.... whatever... I would like to see the facts. Funny how in articles like that they don't actually publish the facts.

Netmonger's post on that site almost made me throw up. When I first bought guns I didn't think too much about where I stood on gun-control but now after reading so many posts from antis, I will never side with any cowardly anti.

I am not sure that online polls have any validity at all.

They really don't.... but they get paraded around when they go in favor of something the writer/editor/reporter is championing as if they were valid.

I agree that this poll is not as important, maybe, as some of the others, given its source. But we should make our voice known to the readers of this site. So I voted.
