The Young Conservatives of Texas and Students for Concealed Carry on Campus need your help!
My name is Kyle and I am the Executive Director of the Young Conservatives of Texas at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and also director of our unofficial chapter of the national Students for Concealed Carry on Campus.
Sometime during the week of October 22-26, we will be holding an Empty Holster Protest to bring attention to the fact that law-abiding gun-owning students in our community, and all across the country are rendered defenseless while at school due to both law and policy. This will be an event to help energize our other activities (letter-writing and lobbying, etc) to hopefully change these policies.
We do, however, have a small problem. Personally, I am turning 21 in a couple weeks, when I will get my first handgun and CHL. Our former chairman, and one other member are the only other members of our organization of 15-20 people who are over 21, and of those 2 only our former chairman has his CHL in the works.
So basicaly, we want to hold an empty holster protest, and we don't have any holsters
I was thinking of a solution, and I remembered that most threads on THR dealing with a choice of holsters have at least a few posters chime in with something along the lines of "oh, I have a whole box of holsters for guns I dont have, or dont use anymore."
I might be going out on a limb here, but it would help us out A LOT if any THR members would send me an old kydex or nylon holster they don't use anymore that we can use for this event.
If you are not willing to part with them (which is understandable) I would be more than happy to mail it back to you at my own cost. This would be coming out of my pocket, which is no problem because it would be a lot cheaper than buying a bunch of Uncle Mikes holsters at $20 a pop.
I am looking to round up about 10, so if you are interested in helping us out, we would be most appreciative! Please PM me if you would like to help!
