Well in case some of yall did not know,
i am a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio and the chairman of the Young Conservatives of Texas chapter there.

For Womens history month we will be doing an event on campus promoting conceal carry and firearms training for women. I was seeing what type of input yall have on how to present things. NRA is suppose to help us anyway they can but do yall know of any groups that put a larger focus on women and 2nd Amend. ?

Any ideas are WELCOMED!!!!

I dont know much about them really other than having heard they are a good 2A group, specifically women and self-defense oriented.

Our Gracious Host

Well, he's not a "group" but our host, Oleg Volk, has a site that has a boatload of images that should be useful in this cause.

If you ask, I should imagine you'll have no trouble getting permission to use them -- after all, that's why he made them.

Find his work here: Prints, A Human Right, and Gallery.

Here's a sample (I have a blonde daughter, so . . .)

Personally I'd make a really nice pamphlet you can give out that includes statistics on concealed carry safety, criminal conviction rates of people with permits in states with them and other things like that. I think you'll encounter alot of women who have no experience with firearms and have heard alot of bad statistics like how you're 36x more likely to be hurt with a gun than protect yourself. Give them something they can take home and read that might address those misconceptions. Slap one of oleg's pictures on the front and make sure it looks nice.

Agree with above suggestions.

Great event! I wish you well.

To raise some money , have fun doing so, and making a RKBA point -

Get a Fire Extinguisher, put a gun lock on it ( obvious it is a gun lock) and place it where visible. Sell raffle tickets for a key to open this gun lock.

Money for the ladies, sends a message about gun control and hopefully some fun in doing it.

Best of Luck!

Steve
