I hate it when people want to enjoy life and try to do the things that they enjoy, the way they want to. Maybe what's best is if we all conform. In fact, why should there be more than one gun manufactured? Shouldn’t we all shoot the same gun and same caliber too? And what’s with that weird music and TV shows? Let’s have one TV show, one music, one food and we all wear the same uniform. I have a brown dog and a black one too. Perhaps that is a bit excessive. Shouldn’t they both be black? Aren’t all dogs supposed to be black? I live in Los Angeles, I have a 4wd Grand Cherokee, and a 57Chevy P.U., both are a bit extreme if you think about it. Why couldn’t I just take the bus?

There was a clever little book written years ago that fits this way of thinking. In George Orwell’s 1984, humanity achieved it’s essence only through conformity. There was freedom only by be being exactly as all the others. Kind of like Apple Computers!

What’s the biggest truth here? We, as gun owners we are the non-conformists, the modern day freaks, the ten-in-ones of days gone by. We cling to an era of freedom and appreciation unique to our sensibilities, and the glue that binds us is the individuality of our common interests, and the way we choose to express and fulfill ourselves through those interest. Maybe what we are really missing here is that to fit in, we should all surrender our guns and join the majority. And then we could all, “get a laugh out of Desert Tan.”

Can I tie a little pink bow around my AR while I'm at the range? I don't want to mix it up with all the other EBR's on the rack.

:neener:

I make a point to not make fun of others people stuff. It's what they like. Who am I to judge.

I have mudflap stickers on my AR. I put them on there because they look funny.

If someone gets a laugh out of it all the better. It's the hits that cound not what your gear looks like.

Plexreticle,

I used to ride and train with a group of snobby roadbikers. I glued a small naked reclining woman to my fender as a mudflap. Sometimes when it was rainy I wore a camo gore tex jacket to ride in.

*sigh*

You're right -- we should all be nicer to each other. Point made. And closed, because there's nowhere this thread can go from here but down.

As always, feel free to PM me with questions, complaints, or comments.
