I just got a dog training revolver that takes 209 primers instead of blanks (blank prices are silly, around $13 per 100 for .22 Shorts).
The thing works well. In fact, it's TOO loud.
I used the Winchesters I have on my reload bench. AFAIK they're middle-of-the-road, i.e. loads get a bit hotter when you use Federals, but Winchesters are about the "standard".
Can anyone think of a 209 primer that's pathetic? As long as it's non-corrosive, that's what I'd want.
