I have a Weatherby Accumark and I am looking for suggestions on a trigger job. I had a local gunsmith work on it a few years back and am dissapointed to say the least. I asked the guy if he worked on these action's triggers before and he said yes. I told him I wanted to take the little creep it had and bring it down from about 4 pounds to a bit over 2.5. I asked him if I should get a timney replacement and he said no. When I got it back, he had taken the bolt locking mechanism off for safety which I liked. But the problem is, after the gun is fired and recocked, you have to switch back to safety and then to fire in order to reset the trigger to about 3 pounds(he said he would not go any lower than 3) if you do not move back to safe then to fire then it is about 5.5-6 pounds. So basically I paid him almost 100 bucks to get a half a$$ trigger job that I have to redo. From what I have read I think I am gonna go with the timney. But does anyone else have experience with removing the locking mechanism on the bolt like he did? I like being able to chamber/unchamber a round while on safety? By the way it is the magnum action(300Wby).
