I am looking at the Weatherby Vanguard Carbine in .22-250 for a low end long range varmint rifle, I know they are made by Howa etc. the Carbine comes in a 20" barrel and the regular Vanguard in a 24" barrel, does anybody have any experience/input on these??

With all that powder a 22-250 needs a longer barrel IMO. You may just want to get the 223 with a 20" bbl.

Caliber, no. Vanguard carbine, yes.
I chose the Vanguard in .308 over a Remington.
In a push feed system, I like the Vanguard's extractor, fluted bolt, and ejection port gas vents.
Factory trigger's good on mine out of the box, averages between 1.5 & 2 inches at 100 yards, depending on ammunition. Good enough for my purposes with this gun.

I had one in 308 as well. Agree on the 1.5-2" groups at 100 yards. That was not good enough for me so mine was sent down the road. I like the Vanguard rifles but even with the shorter barrel they are a heavy gun.

I would opt for a longer barrel to be certain. I had one of the carbines in 7mm Rem Mag with a 20" barrel. It was blistering accurate, but it cost velocity. Check out the Vanguard Varmint Specials.
