Weaver Scope Question

I have an older Weaver K6 scope. It has a 60-B1 reticle, post and wire. I hope someone out there has one and can answer this. Is the post supposed to extend above the cross wire, or just touch it?

Jake,
In all the models I saw, the post extended slightly above the cross wire. Use the TOP of post for aiming.
