Web Sling

RancidSumo,

If it's a copy of the Garand sling it would be great for an Appleseed. Good price too.

If your CZ has 1.25" sling swivels it will work fine. If it doesn't the 1.25" Uncle Mike swivels are excellent.

very adjustable and well made

its a great design and u can adjust it to fit you perfect

alot of hunting slings have a set number of holes around every in or so

i know the one i currently have on my .30-30 is a good sling thats about it it isnt adjustable enough for me to use it for supportive shooting

I've got a green DPMS web sling. It's not bad although the hardware isn't quite as solid as the real (surplus) web slings. The DPMS sling is also a little shorter than a military web sling. I've ordered a couple of these: http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=984970&chrSuperSKU=&MC=
and found that the hardware is good and the sling itself is pretty long, allowing for more adjustment.

I personally like the web slings more than the 1907 style leather slings, although either is lightyears ahead of your average "sling" (aka carry strap) when it comes to marksmanship. The web sling is sometimes tricky to use properly until you get the hang of it. This site explains the right way to get into a web sling.

You can usually find surplus canvas slings for around $5 -15 if you look around- especially on auction sites. Get the USGI canvas slings and accept no substitute. I bought several of these at a gun show several years ago at a gunshow for about $5 ea, and consider them to be an outrageous bargain for their utility.

I find the canvas slings to be much easier to adjust than leather 1907 slings and they work just as well for supporting a rifle, they will stay put after adjusting them so long as you have it in the correct orientation once you tighten it down on your arm.

If you go with a leather sling, get a Turner, most cheaper leather slings including slings made for hunting aren't good for anything other than a carrying strap. Don't even be tempted to buy a cheap 1907 reproduction sling- its just money thrown away.

FWIW, I use a Turner 1907 sling on my AR-15, and a M1 canvas sling on everything else. The M1 sling would work just fine on the AR as well, but I decided to splurge on a nice sling when I bought the rifle.

A whole lot of the top high power shooters use a 1907 Leather sling, a decent number of top high power shooters use the web sling. National titles and records have been won and set with both. Use what you feel more comfortable using.
