i decided to throw a few of the vmaxes i have for my 204 on the pan to see variation in weight
the 32g typically weighed about 31.4g up to 31.5 and down to 31.2
and the 40g vmax avg 39.4g +/- .1grain,
i tend to shoot better with the 40g than the 32,
but normally i dont have dead calm days either so it could mostly be due to the higher bc of the 40g?
i typically group 1"@100yd- 32gvmax and .75"@100yd 40gvmax
if i weighed and separated the 32g could it improve the group a quarter inch at this range? asking because i have 250 32 and only 100 40g
gun is a ruger mkII 24" barrel stainless synthetic stock.
the other gun is my 788 in .308 just got done fixing its few problems, trigger, accidentally glueing my barrel to the stock, typical stuff lol....
so i freefloated it and its shooting well so far(5 cold clean bore rds). i have cheap bulk corelokt 165g i kinda plan to use for practice and switch up to 168 smk and 165 sst for real target shooting,
but ended up getting 150g sst instead since that was all thats in stock.
i have reloader 15, varget, benchmark, and h4198, would any of these bullets show any improvement with the calibers weights and powders i have by weighing the bullet too? currently i weigh every charge, trim cases every time resized, no crimp, and used cci 200 primers but ran out so im now using wlr primers.
oh yah, the 788 shoots anywhere between one hole and no other discernable bullet entry in my target(about .308 edge to edge lol) for three shots....to 5 inches for 5 shots, so i think i fixed it now but gotta shoot tomorrow an see, any suggestions as far as bullet weighing to improve accuracy?
