Well, that's it. I'm done.

Today I purchased the last gun that was on my list of guns I wanted to own. I have them all. Took 20 years as I started in 1986 following a burglary that left me with zero guns.

Sure, a Thompson, a Registered Magnum and a Holland & Holland double rifle would be nice but those would be well beyond my means to realistically ever own so I don't count them. And not every gun I own was on the list. Some were impulse buys because they appealled to me at the moment. But the core list of guns I sought to purchase has now be fulfilled.

Today I bought a S&W .44 Special Hand Ejector (3rd Model) of 1926 and this was the last gun I was seeking.

I have fewer and fewer goals in life...

And that is why you are never done :D . I made a list once of what I wanted to own. I am halfway through said list, and found I have more things that were not on that list than were. At this rate I wont be finished till I'm dead  .

I had a friend tell me that, once.

Twenty-four hours later, he called me up all excited. Turned out he was jonesing for a new gun.

 :D

Seriously, man ... if you don't readjust your goals as you go through life, you'll be stuck sitting at home staring at the walls in your old age! Surely you can find something else to lust after and work towards ...

My Mission will not be complete until I have the Holy Grail in my hands - a Thompson with two 60 round drums.
Oh, and a stock 1936 Flathead...:)

Offhand, I'd say my goal is to get my hands on a titanium-gold Desert Eagle, that I've lusted after since playing a demo of "Duke Nukem: The Manhattan Project" :D

(In case you were wondering, I'm nowhere NEAR reaching said goal...! ;) )

Of the guns I own, only the Mossberg 590 was actually on my "I will own one" list. Everything else on that list .. well I just can't afford it. I suppose if I didn't buy all the guns that weren't on the list, I might have been able to have spent that money on one or two that are .. but, oh well, I've had fun shooting what I've got.

Yeah, I tell myself I'm done from time to time. Then something happens & I end up buying something :D LIke my most recent addition, CA approved "off list lowers" for sale in the state & so began my project AR build

i will confess; i want a spencer,with mags and box,and a schofield.

Yeah I said I was done too after buying a new XD 45 Tactical last month. Then last week I got to looking at one of my naked AR lowers and decided it need an upper........oh and don't forget the new Eotech optic.

Yesterday I get on line and see an ad for a Belgian Browning Auto 5 Magnum 12 shotgun in 97%+ condition. The best part is, the guy was only asking for 600 bucks shipped so I had to take that deal!!! I'm sick and need help. heehehe

After this latest experience, I'll visit the message boards, but I'm vowing to not even read the for sale sections. The problem is that there's ALWAYS a good deal out there. :p

please tell me

that you have a big, sturdy safe, an alarm, a dog, and lots of insurance.

Unless you want to go through that all over again...

Interesting.....

Yup.. you bought an old 1925. Seeing as how I still havent found out how to post a question, my I ask you for Info, Hopefully. I too just found, and purchased a sought after IVER JOHNSON 1896, 32 Cal. Hand Gun... Can you tell me what would be a safe AMMO. to use in it?

I gave up on "the List" many years ago - now I just get a bug for somethin' new, and sniff around 'til I find it. Then I realize I can't afford it...:cuss:

And Biker - go for the '38 Flattie; better oiling system.

So you have an Armbrust, a Davy Crockett, a UV-laser taser, and a...

Oh. You meant "I have all the guns that are on someone else's list for me to own".

Don't worry, you'll still think of something else, even under that draconian restriction :D

good for you !!!
my list has still not been complete and we are 30 years into this thing

Well, that's it. I'm done.
That's great, I've been there myself many times.

Now I just keep an envelope in the gun safe labeled "Shooting Cookie Jar". I add to it every payday.

When the "I've got just what I need" feeling wears off, I just reach into the cookie jar and expand my horizons.:)
