Went to browse in the gun store today. My favorite shop, Jensen Arms in Loveland. I wanted to take a look at a P239. As I walked in the salesman, Mike, said, "Steve, I've been trying to find your number. We got a few excellent Makarov's in. I know you've been looking for one." There it was, shining in the display case. Bulgarian in like new shape. Just what I'd been looking for for four months. $179.95. I know I could have taken a chance and had one for less by mail order, but I wanted a 'really' nice one. It doesn't have a mar on it and the trigger is better than I thought it would be.
As I was filling out the 4473, Mike says, You'll have to take a look at this, too." A Limited Edition P239 Concealed Carry. Wow!! Black with nickle highlights, Novak sights, Gunmate IWB holster, and one 8 and one 10 round mag. Only $519.95. Wow! Wellllll...I'll take it if you'll trade out that godawfulugly cumbersome 10 rounder for another standard 8 round. OK.
So here I sit. Doing the initial cleaning of two new guns. My wallet is thinner but my heart is full. Life was good to me today.

Wow...I wish I had the money to make spur of the moment buys like that. I'm envious. I'll have to wait a year before I can make any large buys at all as my wife is in medical school now. After that though...yeeee-haw!

I went to a gunshop on SAT looking for a Mak also. I have been trying to buy one for several weeks but there are none to be found and the gun store guys are too lazy to order one for me. I don't get it, I have money to just hand over to them if they just got off their lazy a$$ and picked up a phone but I guess that is too much to ask of them.

That is a nice SIG 239, I have been thinking about getting one of those also. I have a soft spot for medium framed single stack 9mm semi autos and next to the Kahr K-9, I think the SIG is best of the bunch right now. The K-9 is awsome but the prices are getting stupid on them. I have seen nice used SIG 239s going for less than $400 and I think that is a deal worth jumping on.
