I appreciate all of your responses about this show. I went today and here is my report:

It was crowded and poorly lighted as some of you warned. Many of the same vendors who attend the Cincinnati area shows were there, but also a bunch that I had never seen.

Here are the "deals" that I turned down. Glock G36 ANIB(single stack 45) with 3 factory mags and night sights. Walk-around private seller wanted $575 and thought his price was decent. I will not pay that for a Glock.

Another walk-around seller had a Kahr PM9 NIB with 2 mags. He started at $525, was down to $499 by the time I got there, and offered it to me at $475 as he was walking out the door. I passed. I guess compared to new prices, it was not too bad, but like Glocks, I don't want to pay that for much a Kahr.

Here is what I bought: A NIB Norinco 1911A1 with 2 mags and cleaning brush from a private table seller for $360 OTD. He had two of these and I got the second one. This guy said that it was a Colt clone and that all parts interchange. The only thing that appears to be none GI are the sights which are 3-dot. poppy

Norks come with 3 dot sights although the dots are a bit smaller than you see on Colt or springers. You'll love it...can almost guarantee it; and it'll outshoot many that cost way more.

Thanks Ulflyer, I will be taking it to my buddy's club on Wednesday for a test run. I'll see how it shoots compared to his Kimper Ultra Carry. poppy

Yes The show was crowded. The only gun I was tempted on was a nylon 66 for $125 I saw 2 other ones that were tagged over $200 Georgia arms had a both, They haven't been around up here for a whale.

Your new Norinco was really NIB ... and only 360 bucks? That'd be one heckuva deal up here; I've seen beater Norks going for over 400 in this area ... All-steel (and good steel, too), excellent for using as a base pistol to customize ... or leaving stock. Well done.

Yes Old Dog, the Norinco is really NIB. Everything is in the box including the second mag in a sealed bag and the oh so brief manual. The finish is blued, I guess, since that is what is marked on the end of the box. They must have also come in parkerized, since that option was on the box also. The seller had the gun marked $395, but quickly came down to $360 after I offered $350.

Daniel, there were several people there selling ammo, but I didn't really notice a lot of bulk stuff. Maybe someone else can give you more detail. poppy

I was there today too, didn't buy anything but actually did see a deal or two that was hard to pass up.

Saw the nylon 66 for $125, neat gun but I'm not really interested in a collectors peice right now.

Savage bolt action .22 (MK II ?), brand new $85. Another nice gun, but pretty dang close to identical to my marlin .22.

And there was a guy who was trying to sell an NEF handy rifle (laminated stock) with a weaver scope mount, .270 barrel, 30/30 barrel, and .22 hornet barrel all as a package for $230. I've actually been wanting something like this, only this one was in 3 calibers I don't really want, or have much use for right now.

Also did quite bit of thinking about an M44 for $68. Would be a fun project, but to make it what I want, I'd be looking at bending the bolt, tapping the receiver and making or buying a new stock. Lot of time and effort to end up with something thats still not really what I'm looking for right now.

All in all I'd say this was a better show than the last one I went to, although I think the crowding was even worse.

I'll be going to the show Sunday. I'm looking for bulk ammo was their any dealers at the show?

7.62x39
7.62x54
8mm

One guy in the back corner by the rear entrance (parking lot side of the store, rather than the entrance from inside the mall) had 7.62X54R in bulk cases. Think it was around $85 for 880 rounds. Thats the only one I took notice of, don't know if thats a good price, or how many other people had it.
