Hi every one, this is my first time posting on here but I wanted to get the word out on West Coast Tactical in Torrance, CA.

Before I get to it, I want to make it clear that I give it a Perfect 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. I LOVED it!

I have a strong background in Krav maga, kickboxing and some other weapons training. But I think it's a good idea to be a well rounded fighter. The first place I ever trained at was ITTS. Which has a great reputation and I liked it a lot. I thought I would take all my training there.

That is until I went to West Coast Tactical. I learned about 10xs more for half the money! Plus they're right in my own back yard so bonus for me. But some in the class had driven all the way up from San Diego, so that goes to show that it's really world class instruction and worth the drive.

I just finished level 1 tactical hand gun and by the end of the second day of instruction, I was shooting at a level that I thought would take ages for me to get to. I'm really excited to take their level 2 hand gun and every other class they offer.

I'm a believer! West Coast tactical is the real deal. Fred is the head of the school and he's really the best teacher you could ever have. Take any of his classes and you'll see what I mean.

some details

To begin with they have some class room time to go over basic handgun safety, but they don't spend too much time on it if they know that everyone in the room already has basic handgun safety.

What I liked most about the class room time was the combat mind set that Fred Darling teaches you. He teaches you that this is about fighting for your life or the life of your loved one. Not some abstract concept or simple target practice. He doesn't get hung up on the idea that there's only 1 way to do something. He's more like: there's several ways to do this, this is my way and this way is about survival. Plain and simple. I really respect the fact he doesn't beat around the bush and try to cushion the facts. He tries to get you to understand that this is about life and death. But at the same time, the class keeps an upbeat vibe about it, it's never too stuffy.

He also had us do some malfunction drills, including a new one that no one had ever done before. He's able to to this, becuase he's constantly training so that he can give his students the newest and most up to date info out there. He's not stuck in a time warp, everything they teach you here is relevant to today's society and what's really going on out there in the streets.

After a few hours in the class room and several drills about clearin malfunctions and presentation we hit the range. We worked on a variety of things over the two Sundays we met. But the most fun part too me was the moving targets that popped up at you as if it were you against four gunmen. And they wouldn't go down until Fred thought they should, sometimes that meant a headshot, other times it didn't. But just when you thought you got them all, they'd pop back up. It was great.

They really push you, but not to the point where safety is compromised.

go to his sight www.wct.4t.com and check it out. You won't be sorry if you train with him.
