Wet tumblers: how do you deal with SS pins?

I also use a media separator that's filled with enough water so brass will tumble in it to separate pins. When done, I remove the pins from the water with a magnet. I also use a base magnet with an eye bolt attached. I put the magnet into a small plastic container that will nest into the opening of the FART. When you pull the magnet away from the inside of the plastic container, the pins fall off.

I use the Frankford Arsenal rotations tumbler and media separator. I dump out most of the water from the FART tumbler, being careful not to dump out any pins or brass. Then I put the pins, brass, and any soapy water left into the FA sifter. I fill the tub base halfway with water, attach the lid, and rotate the sifter about 50 times, reversing direction every complete turn. I dump the brass into a towel to remove excess water, and then transfer the brass to a re-cycled food dehydrator. I very rarely see a pin remaining in the brass when I follow this procedure.

I pour the pins from the tub base to the tub lid. The pins are still wet, and won’t all flow into the lid, so I gently spray water from a garden hose to wash them into the lid. I rinse the pins and leave them in the lid to dry. The lid has a screen so most of the water drains off very quickly.

I have the FA magnet, but normally only use it to pick up any stray pins that got away. Any magnet could be used for this purpose, but the FA is handy with its quick release feature.

Another item I picked up for the FART was a pair of screens. I open one end and replace the clear piece with a screen. Turn it over and as the dirty water is running out into the sink, I open the other end. I use the sink sprayer to rinse the brass and pins inside. I picked my screens up on amazon.
