I went and bought a Glock 34 today. I have always wanted a 9mm and thought why not kill two birds with one stone. Until now I have shot CDP with a Glock 30. I like the gun and shoot well with it, but I see guys shoot with these 9mm's and brass just flys out.
I just had a opportunity to finally shoot this gun along side with the M&P Comp 9. I couldn't keep a good group with the M&P and went with the 34. Long story short I have never really shot or reloaded a 9mm before and was curious to see what kind of ammo do you guys run with your 9mm in IDPA?
I reload so that isn't the problem, I am more curious to see what people are using to make the 125,000 power factor? I shoot a .45 in CDP which needs 165,000 PF, so I usually run a 200 gr bullet. In a 9mm am I better off with light 115', middle 125's or heavy 147's? Does the light stuff have problems with steel knock downs? I am about to order some bullets and was curious to which ones are optimum for my application.
Feel free to move this thread to reloading as that is more of the topic I am concerned with, but seeing as most IDPA shooters reload, I figured I would give this section a try.
I have tons of reloading manuals, but feel free to say what powder you use as well, I have just about them all. I'm used to the low pressure 45acp. Thanks in advance for all of your help and suggestions.
