What about Armalite?

Please educate us non schooled...

I read crash50s account of a gun that made me so very envious even though I didnt understand a lot of the parts he got onto his AR-15 'carbine'.

Now, I'll post some questions that might seem silly to you guys, but in europe we really dont know that much about the ARs and the nicknames of various attachments... So:

1. What is a BUIS?
2. What is an EOTECH?
3. How can I best comprehend this: " a built-up registered AR-15 pistol with the full length carbine buffer tube on it. The lower is a DPMS and the upper is a Model 1, 11.5" Commando."

I have noticed a fiew firms offering AR-15 based 'pistols' and other things which have a stick instead of a stock on them... Is there a law that makes them do this? (I mean the rigs that have a stick instead of a stock, I'll put a picture of such guns).

I'm just curious.:):confused::)

Yours truly,

Mr Poundr.

Is the below an AR rig? Or is it something else, this is what it said on the site I downloaded the pic from: Vulcan V94-300 5,5 inch semi auto 'pistol'.

How about this, why the stick instead of a stock?

Is this a good optic, and can people tell me what is it that it exactly does? Does it magnify the picture by three times? What is the main difference to a holographic site? see below:

What about these two?

And this, what about an AR that has a pistol grip? I mean, why isnt it too heavy? Why do they show it being shot like a normal semi-auto handgun, instead of a shotgun without a stock (where the other hand holds on to the part in front of the magazine, the natural way to hold such a gun imho, anyway that's how I would shoot it)?

And dear friends, please forgive me for not knowing much of the parlance of the gun language, and consepts in AR guns that seem as simple as ABC to you. I'm only happy to learn if you will part with some info for me please? :)

A lot of people don't seem to get the fact that the .308 or 7.62 Nato ARs offered by companies like DPMS, Armalite/Eagle, and etc. are different animals from the AR15s offered by these same companies. It's like comparing apples and oranges. I have an LMT M4 and a Colt 6920 but for my .308, I wanted good value for the money which includes accuracy so I bought a DPMS LR 308 and have not regretted it since. But for trouble free shooting and excellent build quality, my LMT is my favorite - no hiccups of any kind. Cold War was selling the Colt 6920s for $1150 at the last Dallas Market Hall show. If I had the money, I would have bought another.

Now that is a pricey bit of ammo!!!

Gunnie, I suspect that you already know that Lapua is one of the most quality oritentated firms in the market (and I'm not saying this because I'm half Finnish).

Still 100 bucks for 20 rounds, thats five dollars per round!!!

It must be a bit irritating to have to pay so much to get in that important training. One could ofcourse use another company's cheaper rounds, but they wont behave the same...

Well, it is the preferred medium sniper round of most armies in the world, so it cannot be c**p!

If I ever get to america, I will try to look you up and have some fun shooting long range!

Yours most enviously, Mr poundr. :)

I read the "AR" in AR-15 stands for Armalite.
They developed the platform, so I guess they know how to make them.
