What about Colt Gold Cup?

You guys have some beautiful Gold Cups! Even after looking at the high end 1911s the Gold Cup is still the best looking out there! Any opinions on the spur hammer and non beaver tail grip vs the newer Gold Cups with those features?

I bought mine to shoot service pistol as well as informal bullseye as such GI grip safety and hammer are required. The new Goldcup "Trophy" are not legal.
besides the old ones are working pieces of art.wow I just noticed how bad pic is I'll get a new one on soon.

This is the biggest drawback to the new ones IMO, not issues of fit and finish.

Today I picked up my first 1911.
I was hoping to find a Ruger SR1911 but they had none.
After looking at a bunch of contenders I went with the Gold Cup Trophy. It's a beauty, especially with the 100th Anniversary logo on the grips.
Can't wait to take it out to the range!

Double Vision do tell your results at the range w/ your new Gold Cup! I am not sure if I want to purchase a new Gold Cup or try to find one of the older model 70's.....oh and pics please!
