What can you tell me about this gun?
I´ve just get one two days ago.
Is a 14-4 6in.

One of my top favorites. Mine like the Federal 130gr fmj load a little better it seems than the 158gr lswc or the 158gr lrn.

Great gun. I have a 14-3 and it is seriously accurate. One of my "gonna keep it" guns. :)

Like Moonclip, mine does not care for 158 Gr bullets, but loves 148 Gr and lower.

Our guns tend to shoot more accurately with cartridges that are loaded with bullets that weigh less than 158 grains. The 158 grain .38spl bullet in a lead round nose format is a very common load.

I love my 14-4. It is far more accurate than I am, I use my 14-4 as my nightstand gun. At 25 feet it puts 100 shots on target without much effort.

I've used mine for that purpose in the past also. I feel the long barrel helps expand hp's and the recoil, flash, and blast are milder in a small home.

Smith never made a finer example of a revolver or a more accurate one than the Model 14 or some refer to it as the K38 Target Masterpiece.

Does anyone know if you can find a replacement barrel for the 14-4? Mine has some horrible rust and pitting on it. It was aftermarket in the first place, and I'd like a more factory look. Anyone?

It is a fairly common model so I'd feel they are out there, some gunsmiths might have one, it's gonna be a gunsmith job to replace anyways. Gun parts Corp might have them.
