What am I missing?

So it'll be some time before I purchase another pistol but I'm already pondering about what I want next.

At the moment I feel like I've got a pretty well rounded collection going.

So I want to poke the brain of THR for thoughts on what I get next, taking into account:

I don't hunt, so I feel like I've got the long gun area covered sufficiently.

I've had .22 pistols before but rarely end up shooting them so if I were going to do that again I'd probably just get a kit.

In general I enjoy just learning other platforms and guns or guns with historical background (but not necessarily old, for example my Springfield Loaded model is "close enough" for a 1911) and I don't enjoy guns with oddball calibers.

Here's what I've got:

Mossberg 500 12ga with short and long barrels, pistol grip and regular stock
Marlin 60 .22
Marlin .30-30
Springfield 1911
Smith and Wesson 19 (4 inch .357)
Glock 19 (compact 9mm)
Smith and Wesson 36 (5 shot .38 special snub)

Thoughts? Main one on my brain at the moment is a Browning High Power.

You sound like you need a massive hand-cannon of any variety for fun shooting.
A .44 Mag for instance?

I agree, time for a 44 Magnum, and you may want to make it a single action since you don't have one of those. A Ruger Super Blackhawk, new or used and unabused, would do you well. Both the gun and round are accurate. With the 44 Magnum, you can do all kinds of reloading, from virtually no recoil round ball gallery loads to fire breathing wall shaking full bore heavy recoiling loads. The 44 Mag is my absolute favorite caliber.

You stated you didn't shoot the 22 handgun much, but you may want to consider a .22 conversion for your 1911. The 22 will make a real shooter out of you, definitely 50 yard accurate.

Didn't think of a single action .44, not a bad idea at all!

A commander 1911 isn't different enough from my Springfield for me to bother. But a .40 P226 would be good, I don't have anything in that platform. I've had half a dozen Sigs over the years and loved them all but never had the 226 since I was focused on a carry gun.

Browning High Power would be a excellent choice (9mm only, not the 40) One of the most accurate 9's around and really a pleasure to shoot.

If you are only range shooting then a 40 SW really serves no need other than it is snappy and more recoil.

large caliber revolver and .380 pocket gun. i don't particularly like carrying my LCP compared to something more powerful but man that thing is about as easy to carry as a cell phone. lol.

I too was gonna suggest a .44mag, but then got to thinkin' if you're not a hunter, that a L-Frame or N-Frame .357 capable of shooting full-house loads regularly would be a good compliment to your K-Frame.....and you could still shoot the light stuff outta them. My other thought would be a .357 carbine to go along with your 30-30. It too could use some of the same ammo as your revolvers.

have you considered a dedicated long range rifle? maybe a 308 or something along those lines? i know you said handgun- maybe something like an Encore that can be set up for long range pistol shooting.
