I have an SW9V sigma that has poor accuracy with most of the walmart target ammo i have tried.
Does anyone know any brand of ammo these things actually shoot well?
I currently handload for my 38 if anyone knows loads the sigma likes I would consider getting some 9mm dies

I agree with it most likely being a trigger problem .. I think there are simple mods you can do to bring the pull down a little bit

I sold mine and bought another XD
I got the sigma for the wife she couldn't hit the side of a barn with it (Fairly new shooter). She doesn't seem to have that problem with the XD-9

One of the trigger pull mods is a reduced-power striker spring. This can compromise reliability since it increases the chance of a light strike. If it's going to be a range gun only, then I'd consider doing that mod and handload using softer primers like Federal.

definately the trigger. my friend just bought one (his 1st handgun) yesterday & we went shooting. he was all over the place at 7yrds. i shot 10rds and kept it in the 10ring. i then let him shoot my G24 (w/KKM 9mm barrel) and he had a decent group. i think the 1st shot was right in the X. he said that the Glock was easier to shoot because the lighter trigger pull.

FWIW we were using WWB.

Bench it and see what you get. The trigger is heavy and you have to go back to basics until you're used to it. It can be mastered. If you like the gun, work with it a bit. Ignore unsolicited suggestions that you get rid of it (unless you genuinely dislike it). I use WWB (occasionally UMC) in mine for practice and I can typically keep all the shots on a 3 inch paper plate at 25 feet. I've found that mine badly dislikes 147 gr. subsonics (whatever the make), something it shares with my 5906.

i've used every type of ammo made for my sigma 40ve,some are slightly better than others, but until you learn how to handle that HEAVY trigger pull the type of ammo you use doesn't really matter, bear in mind I don't think the sigma was designed to be an accurate target pistol... more for close range SD
After firing 50 rounds through the sigma, my XD45's trigger feels like a single action!

a sigma is a a poor attempt to copy a glock that cost S&W millions in copyright infringement lawsuit. They almost had it, except for the spongy, inconsistant trigger. to get the 9mm ammo to shoot well you need to follow the following steps:

#1 sell the sigma and renounce your loyalty to it.

#2 buy a glock 17, or 19 and see what a differance it makes!

#3 go to THR and tell all, that you are now well armed.

Mine ate everything I stuffed in the mag including some hot JHP reloads. Still, it wasn't my favorite and when a guy asked me if I had anything for sale, I sold it for what I paid for it to pay for something else. It was a great platform to teach TRIGGER CONTROL though.

Its the trigger pull... I had problems with my 40VE at first but after a couple hundred rounds I started to get used to it

And as far as most of the aftermarket mods, they are very likely to cause lite strikes. The gun was designed with a heavy trigger for law enforcement by request.
