What are the great guns available at affordable prices?

To me, there are at least a handful of truly great guns available today at relatively affordable prices. Especially if they are not in "collector" condition.

I consider the following to be great and affordable:

Winchester Model 12
Ithaca Model 37 from the 1950's
Remington Model 31
Winchester pre-64 Model 70 (refinished with stock cut for recoil pad, otherwise not in the "affordable category)
Smith & Wesson Model 27-2
Winchester 1894 from 1948-1960
Savage 99 pre 1,000,000
Colt Detective Special

What else is comparable?

great yes, affordable ??? Don't see many of those and when I do they want premium most of the time around here.

Except for the 27-2 and the Model 70 I have seen all of the above for under $400.

I have seen fair Model 70's and good 27-2's in the $500's

Guns i have recently seen great prices on for the functionality (bang for the buck, if you will). I own or have owned all of these:

Ruger 10/22 @ around $200
Benelli nova Or mossberg 500 @ about $300
Smith & wesson m&p15 sport @ $600 something

I personally also like the hi-point 9mm pistol, but i dont have great expectations of pistols generally.

More inflation, or when certain foreign currencies outgrow the US dollar by a wider margin will give some of us regrets.
If the professional campaigner wins, and has the chance to make Supreme Court appointments, that's potential trouble, though a legal ruling was recently made, which might be very difficult to contradict.
