I've only owned one AR-15, a Doublestar that I purchased just under a year ago. Its been 100% reliable with all ammo used thus far, and also harvested a nice whitetail buck this year

i guess mine will fall under Franken Gun, Saber Defence competition deluxe upper on a bushmaster LE lower

Rock River National Match, my first AR, I plan on trying a lil' CMP competition, but at 62 the eyes may be a limiting factor LOL

POF P-308 14.5" barrel, Magpul AFG, factory furniture. No scope or iron sights just yet. Any recommendations (especially for iron sights)?

I have two Wilson Combat, one built on a Rock River when they first started on AR. The other got later 2008 as a back up in the event my primary ever had an issue. The first one has served me as a patrol rifle for 7 years and the only issue is I do not shoot it enough and I cannot get it to jam even with the cheapest junk ammo I can find and not cleaning it after several hundred rounds of that junk ammo. Dirty, wet, and whatever. I trust it as much as the M-16 I carried 42 years ago.

I also have a Noveske Thunder Ranch gun and am thinking about getting an SBR from Noveske.

My first AR was the general bushmaster M forgery with gov't profile barrel and detachable carry handle. Installed Surefire quad rail, single point sling attachment, magpul MOE stock, extractor upgrade, RR match trigger and Ergo grip. It's been a great shooter although over gassed. I currently also own an additional DMR style upper that i built myself with 20" RR SS match barrel, stag upper, YHM FF rail, and PWS break/flash hider.

My favorite, and one that i will never part with, is my Colt 6720. It has a Troy TRX battle Rail (9"), YHM phantom silencer quick disconnect flash hider (and necessary silencer), YHM FBUIS, Matech BUIS, Vltor stock, Magpul Single Point Sling attachment, Ergo Grip, DD foregrip and aimpoint comp2 with aimpoint quick disconnect. I have on order a Troy trx rail quick disconnect sling attachment. Unless you plan on precision work or mounting a grenade launcher i see no reason to use a gov't profile barrel in place of something lighter like the pencil barrel of the 6720.

Yeah..I so missed the franken gun option. Mines a BCM upper with a DPMS lower. Not a single malfunction yet.

I bought the lower used (as part of a whole dpms rifle), then slapped the BCM upper on it. Ironically, the original dpms upper was a just a bit more accurate. It was free floated though.

I have one complete rifle (a lightweight dissipator) from Spike's. I also have a midlength BCM upper on an LMT lower with a Daniel Defense BCG.

Frankenguns here. My go to gun is mostly CMMG (but built on a BM lower) with a few upgrades here and there, and my 9mm RRA is mostly RRA.

My AR45 is an Olympic upper on a CNC Guns lower.

I don't think any two parts on my AR22 came from the same company. KKF bbl, M1S upper, RRA lower, otherwise it was mainly stuff from the parts bin, aside from a few detents and springs I was missing...

I had no idea what I was looking for when I bought my AR in the early 90's. I wound up with a Armalite M15A4, 20 inch barrel, with a detachable carry handle and front sight. It has since been transformed with a White Oak NM upper and Rock River 2-stage NM trigger. My original upper now sports a Bushnell Elite 3200 10X40 tactical scope, Burris AR scope mount, and Harris bipod......a relatively cheap target setup. The only time I ever had any ammo problem was one shell jammed in the chamber while shooting cheap ammo manufactured in the United Arab Emirates. Otherwise, both uppers have been very reliable. I'm now thinking about a long-term carbine build.
