The gator thread has me wondering if an EBE (or ET, if you prefer) could be incapacitated with a rather diminutive caliber or if something like a .300 Weatherby magnum should be used. What if they have their energy shield activated?

So if, say, your standard Grey beamed down into your back yard/living room/whatever, what caliber is sufficent?

BTW, I know it's all about shot placement, but the next time I see this guy in my bedroom at 3 AM, I want to be sure it's dead.

For reference, here is a picture resembling the one that kidnapped me:

Depends on the home world and sub species.

Extogalthians from Terra Zema Nine are soft and squishy without much bone structure to get in the way. .22 works fine for these guys.

Now, Eggheads from Delta Nine like our friend pictured above, whew. Super strong skeletons and genetically engineered vital casings need maximum power and penetration. The .300 you mention would be a good long ranger. .308 in the heaviest you can find is a bare minimum, but don't count on it at long ranges. 10mm is a minimum choice for side arm, 500 S&W is better.

The grays a .45ACP,

But lets have some fun,

For Grunts and Jackals use 5.7mm (M6D6)

For Brutes use .50 or 500S&W

For Hunters......Run! (Unless you have plasma grenades or clear shots of any caliber)

i think my win 1300 and some slugs would be fine just fine for hunting that critter ;)

Just sneeze our viruses will kill them did you not see war of the worlds. It worked on the Blackfoot Indians they were given blankets infected with small pox the rest as they say is history.

Len-

They have the tech to fly millions of light years

I think they have medicine pretty well figured out as well

Well they may have medicine figured out, but they may have not seen our messed up earthly diseases.

I say our weapons will be useless except for a super close encounter, which will still require a 12 gauge packing slugs. Which of course will only delay the inevitable. (being the mods will shut this thread down, because simulations and paranoia other than a true human figure do not apply to them, well simulations of human figure do not apply to them too. (If I was a mod on a gun forum I would take anything gun related semi serious, not ok, plastic model, video games, shtf, yada yada, close'r down I have no personality.)

So my vote Hide in the dirt, with food water and antibacterial soap.

Better yet, throw those annoying northern relatives at them. You know, the ones who tell you how much better it is in New York, Canada, or where ever.

I here they are paying big creds for liver and onions on Reticulaon!

Armored power suit, it should keep me safe long enough for the Rodger Young and the Roughnecks to show up.

Hey, do rail guns with a 12 inch barrel have to be registered as SBR?

I'm thinking one of those might work on the smaller craft.

What was the general consensus of the "9mm vs. .45 ACP in space" thread? I need to know in case the next ship they use to abduct me doesn't have artificial/simulated gravity.

:scrutiny:

You aren't by any chance asking these questions because you were, uh... probed or something, are you?

:what:

Revenge isn't nice.

I'd take a M41A pulse rifle. It seemed to work well in Aliens vs. the ummm...aliens.

whiskey tango foxtrot. This forum has gotten strange.

But, since you asked, 3 inch slug works great for the ones as you pictured.

It's a very sensitive subject for me. But after nearly a decade in therapy I'm able to recall most of it. I do have some odd burn marks on my back from that night and I woke up standing in my living room at 5 am the next morning in strange clothes with the shirt on backwards. I also was not able to hear high pitched noises for several hours. If they come for me again, I'll be ready.
