What caliber is a M19?

Reason for not using a poll is because it would have to have a clue as to the intent.

I really wanted to know what people NOW thought of as a 19.

My generation would immediately choose the Smith.

I was curious. Got 2 responses 50-50 so maybe that's the answer.

I thought of Smith and Wesson (at the ripe old age of 21), but that's because I mentally refer to a compact Glock 9mm as a "Glock 19" and save the "M19" for S&W.

My first thought was that you meant the Beretta M9, but accidentally put the 1 in.

I did not think of Glock b/c they generally don't have "M" associated with them.
I did not think of a wheelgun first, b/c I'm primarily an auto guy.

MK19 is 40mm, and M1919 is .30 cal(I think)

S&W M19 was mostly produced in .357 magnum. There where a very limited few produced in .38 Special.

I think it depends on age. I'm a young one here so it immediately brought Glock to mind.

The Mark 19, is a 40mm belt fed grenade launcher. And it sure is FUN to shoot.

I'm on the younger side and thought of the S&W when I read "M19".

Usually for Glocks it'd be G19 and the M would be for S&W revolvers.
