A buddy of mine gave me a box of misc. stuff a buddy gave him, and in it there was a few rounds of various calibers. Two of them I don't know what they are and the stamps on the bottoms don't help much. I was hoping somebody could help me identify them.
1- seems to be in the .30 area, it's 3 1/8" long and is stamped: 1945, FS, 7.9, and something else illegible.
2- seems to be in the .20 caliber area, 2 1/4" long and is stamped LC69 or 69LC.
I know it's not a .22-250 or a .22 hornet

What ever these caliber these rounds are in I have never heard of them (not that I know a lot anyway) but i know these are not "common" calibers. I'll try to get pictures up if I can figure out how to get them to the computer and uploaded.

the second one is probably 223/5.56.

the lc stands for lake city, and the 69 is the year made.

lake city makes brass for many calibers though, and i have lc69 in both 223 and 30-06.

the first one could be 30-06. you would need to take some measurements with calipers, like case rim to case mouth, and case rim to shoulder, and diameter of the bullet at the base, where its seated in the case.

actually, i think clickclick doh is right on the larger one.

7.9x57mm is commonly referred to as 8mm, as in 8mm mauser

The larger one is not a .30-06, "7.9x57mm is commonly referred to as 8mm, as in 8mm mauser" after googling it i think that's it.

It's been a little while but the smaller one doesn't look like a .223 different profile and it seems smaller, but I may be wrong.

Yup, I'm an idiot. It's a .223. I haven't shot a .223 in 6 or 7 years and that was before I turned into a "gun nut". Thanks for the help.
