A friend was telling me about how their family had two Mossberg youth pump shotguns that they deer hunted with. They thought they were youths as they had a 22" barrel. I'm not sure that they were. As they started telling me more about them, I asked if I could see one of them. I had asked what model it was and neither of them were sure which is why I wanted to see it. When they brought one out, I noticed that it was all camo, but old style camo. I can't tell if someone just spray painted it, or if it came that way before real tree stuff was out. It didn't have any runs, and looked like a good paint job, but it was chipping in few spots which made me think it might have been done before they got them. They said they got a local gun shop at the time to get them for them. Anyway, on the Barrel it said Mossberg 20 Gauge 2 3/4" or 3" shells. Then said it was a 22" barrel, and then said it was an accu choke barrel. It didn't have anything about a model number so I looked on the receiver. On the receiver the only thing it had was a serial number. No model number or other brand markings there. So what I'm wondering is do they really have Mossberg shotguns? Or do they have guns that aren't Mossbergs and just have a Mossberg barrel? I know Mossberg makes barrels for some other brands of guns which is why I wondered that. The barrel also has rifle sights, but is a smooth bore barrel if that helps identify it any.

I would quess they have Mossberg guns. I don't think Mossberg made 20 ga barrels for other guns - they do make 12 ga for the Remington.
