What did you shoot today?

IMG_2694.JPG Shot 100 rounds 38spl in a recently purchased 2002 Ruger SP101 DA/SA 2.25" 357 Magnum. Shot it poorly the day I bought it so I replaced the compact grip with a Hogue and installed a 12# main spring to replace the stock 14# spring. I took out the trigger group and cleaned out the sticky oil residue and grime. I installed hammer and hammer dog shims. Shot like a different gun today(in a good way).

Czech VZ-58. It is nothing like an AKM on the Inside. And Zero Mag interchange with AKMs.
Ponder this.... o_O "should" your Glock mag work in a S&W or Ruger handgun? Most people assume that an AKM mag should work in a VZ-58.

FAL: Imbel SAR-4800. I shot just 20 rounds of .308 = about $17-$20 for today's ammo.
Most of my stored .308 ammo is for weathering the next sudden ammo panic.;)

Today at the club it was the same VZ-58 model seen here, bult in the Czech Republic, and the PTR-91 "Classic GI" (G3 / HK-91 clone).

Manca shoots both rifles on private land in Slovenia , which borders southeast Austria.. Note: These People are regular 'civilians', just like most of us.
Most people believe the Hearsay, that "European countries don't allow....".
o_OSeveral countries allow these guns to be used at clubs or such.;)

Our PTRs were originally built on German HK tooling from Portugal before PTR's production converted to CNC manufacturing.
She does alright shooting both Left and Right-handed.:)

These gents & ladies, “Palomar Tactical “, normally fly to the Shot Show in Vegas.

Kilmer at :58 in the movie "Heat" --:scrutiny: He uses the original HK civilian version used by Manca.

Parking shoutout scene - Heat 1995 - YouTube. Violence, but it's just a movie.

Most of my frequent shooting consumes only 40-60 rounds. That's why it's so very often-and living 12 easy minutes from the huge, private club.

Quite frankly, with my very first three NATO "battle rifles" acquired only since March 2022, today’s prices for .308 ammo:scrutiny:— despite having a huge heap of 7.62x39 ammo— reduce my average consumption per visit.

Load testing 444 Marlin handloads in the CVA scout again today. IMG_8333.JPG . Have only concocted 3 different loads for it so far and it loves every one of them. IMG_8332.JPG ... Also had the Mod. 91/30 Mosin-Nagant out for the first time since last fall to check zero on a few hunting loads. IMG_8328.JPG ... That's a no gunsmithing S & K scope mount on there so trust me; it hasn't been bubba'd or modified in any way. It can go back to original at any time. That scout scope is a big help when older eyes don't get along with irons as well as they once did. After the rifle range it was time to hit one of the pistol bays. Put 54 rounds through the 4" S&W 686, both 357 Mag. & 38 Specials at clay birds and paper plates. Then 41 rounds of the same through the 4 & 5/8" stainless Ruger Blackhawk. Temperature was in the high 20's this morning and never got above 37 or so by the time I left at 1:15. But the sun was out most of the time with only a light breeze. No complaints for early April. I even saw my first woodchuck two days ago.

Sweet! I love it @22250Rem

Mom had enough of us (me and the boy): so, she kicked us out to the shooting range. We took the Bergara BXR with add-ons / Ruger Target mkIV 5.5 with add-ons / 6.5 Grendel AR / Dan Wesson 9-2 Target / Glock 35 .40SW / and the 9mm 1911. Pecked at clay pigeons and chunks (@55yrds) with the rimfires. Then I evaluated the quality of my 38 Special +P "JANKIES"! Found out I need to clean my Glock. Handloads were performing bad behavior. Then finished up with whacking the 215 yards steel smashing with the Grendel. Here's some cheesy picks. ALSO P.S. you ****zers leaving the crap at Sylamore, Arkansas Fish Game range. Quit being ****zers and clean up your left trash!

That reminds me of the old B'rer Rabbit stories.

B'rer Fox captured him, and contemplated punishment. Considered throwing him in the briar patch.

B'rer Rabbit pleaded "please don't throw me in the briar patch." Heh heh heh...

Luck was a lady! I thought she was going to say, "go start that flower bed around the sidewalk". I promised her a week ago. WHEW!

This German lady soldier found some method to deal with the semi-auto recoil of her issued G3 rifle.

My PTR-91, which was used a few days ago against my skinny shoulders, is basically a clone, but many American...men:D.. can't deal with it.

Not a dang thing. :(

I took an eclectic mix; my SA-35, Glock 48, CZ Shadow2, Colt Cobra .38, Ruger GP 100 .357, Wrangler and Bisley Single Six .22’s to the indoor range where I am a member … and it was still closed for “maintenance.”

It’s been over three weeks since it closed. The phone message says it will be closed a few days, but that has been on there the whole time. I saw no vehicles in front as if work was being done, I fear they got shut down for some other reason than “maintenance”.

The outdoor range I joined as a limited member in January is still closed, I haven’t been able to go once because of bad weather, now the creek crossing is still running too high. This is a picture of the gun club web page from today, I guess this guy gave it a whirl and ended up with a thousand dollar rescue, tow and truck repair bill. (He isn’t the only one to get hauled out I guess.)

I am dying to get out and shoot a bit. :fire:

Stay safe.

That's a hell of a shame, and either the indoor range went bankrupt (ask about it inside a different gun shop) or there is some weird, different type of lawsuit going on ?

Without cash flow you will be very lucky if it can reopen, without a "White Knight" showing up - but not the Monty Python types.
