If you want a good source for advice, you might try the USCCA, the United States Concealed Carry Asssociation.
usconcealedcarry.com
Just this week they had a long, detailed article that went out to members on this exact subject. The youtube example above was actually a hot link in their information. It is worth watching, and the USCCA is worth looking at. Anyone that wants to carry a weapon needs good, solid, unbiased information before they even think of carrying.

I would add that after making the simple statements outlined above that you emphasis, politely, "I will not answer any further questions without first consulting my attorney." AND THEN STICK TO THOSE STATEMENTS! The LEO's may act all concerned and ask about your injuries or acts and or insist you make further statements such as the extent or type of injury or the BG's acts that you think were criminal and deserving of arrest and say they won’t call or make an arrest. BUT DON"T GO BEYOND THE SIMPLE STATEMENTS YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE! Even if they insist and say they can't call an ambulance without saying what the injury is, that’s ok you can call yourself but they got to call if the BG is injured and usually several ambulance’s will respond. There’s another acronym for KISS and it pertains to your mouth, Keep It Silent Stupid!

p.s. Anything you say can't and will not be used to protect you. It's called hearsay.
