What do you do with your empty powder containers?

Ok - I lied.
I keep 2. One to refill from an 8 pounder - no lot numbers don't match, but I know where the 8# jug is & can read it off of there.
Plus it's just so much easier for me to pour from the 1 pounder to refill the hopper.

And I keep one for spilled powder.

After a reloading session there's always a few flakes lying around, or if I spill a little when reloading the hopper.
I have a red label on the cover marked XXX

Wonder what would happen if someone brought up empty perscription bottles. Really nice little bottles.

If one can't handle pouring powder from a clearly marked big jug into a clearly marked little jug with out messing it up, one does not need to be handloading in the first place.

I like the idea of filling them with reloaded ammo.

I fill them with fired, dirty brass....once they (brass) have been cleaned they go in to clean Rubbermaid containers.

Beer mugs. Filled from the keg in the reloading room. Which also contains the gas water heater, and the gas furnace.

I'd refill them, but I'm a full time student and can't afford 8# jugs. :banghead:

I've got several sitting around doing nothing. They would be perfect to fill up with .40 ammo to take to the range.

I peel the lables off with a hairdeyer and plaster the boring white walls of the reloading room. Next I carefully cut the top off the container at the radius and use it to store a fixed ammount of brass or lead bullets in. Use the lable maker to ID and it fits on the custom made shelf well. I do the same with old 8 LB ones, Gallon olive oil cans, old sardine tins used as small parts trays, you get the idea..........

I have no imagination at all. I just pitch 'em in the green container that goes out to the road once a week to meet the trash guy. No recycling place around this neck of the woods.

I spray paint over the label and toss them in the recycle bin.

As has been said, I keep 1 for filling from 8lb jugs and the rest either get thrown in the recycling bin or used for plinking targets.

BTW, they are heavy enough when filled with water to remain upright when hit with .22LR ammo even from a rifle. It's fun to see all the streams of water when it's hit several times. It reminds me of the old cartoons...

Why remove/ paint over/ obliterate the labels? Just throw them in the recycle bin or trash container. Paranoia?

I throw them out when finished, I have enough junk lying around.
