I run Speer Gold Dot "Short Barrel" 135 Grain JHP in my lightweight snubbie. They are much more manageable than regular loads since the pistol weighs under 1lb!

At the moment...

... I've got 8 rounds of CCI 158gr. JHP's on tap in my new Taurus.
Not the best stuff in the world, but I'm sure it'll get the job done.
They actually look like some pretty mean rounds.

Why: The place I bought it didn't have anything hot that was heavier than 110 gr., and The CCI was $10 for a box of 50. The range I went to didn't sell anything but reloads, and didn't allow "full-house" .357 Magnum to be fired on their range. :banghead: Full-house was anything other than their reloads. :fire:

Needless to say I was shooting .38spl today. :cuss:

158 gr

Remington 158 gr semi jacketed hollow points, handloaded to +p specs.
Some times 3-158 gr sjhp's followed by 3-158 gr semi jacketed soft points.

170 gr buffalo bore jhc

great for deer, should work on people too if it has to. their 125,s get 1700fps and the 180's get 1400fps. both around 800 ft/lbs energy.:neener:

Corbon 110gr. Probably won't buy anymore once I finish it off. I voted for and have many boxes of 158 gr Hydrashok and Federal Classic 125gr JHP.

My .357 is a "bush" gun-Ruger flattop I carry out at the ranch. I load 180 gr. CP gas check cast bullets to 1250 fps. Enough penetration to stop a nutso steer, in a handy package.

My .357 is an Sp101 with 3" barrel. It is loaded with 135 grain Gold Dot short barrel loads, so I can't vote for any of the options in the poll. :p

Winchester 125 Gr Super X JHP for when I'm outside or on the road, and some kind of .38 Sp 158 Gr JHP in my 66 for home defense. I don't know the name of these .38s. Sorry.

My 357 is not my primary self defense gun, that duty goes to my XD40.:p I primarily use my 357 on camping trips, protection from both 2 legged and 4 legged critters. I load 158 grain JSP's in mine. Its a taurus tracker 4" stainless.

158 Federal HS... I tried some of those 125 gr Remintons... damn things are too hot for me out of my Colt snubby. Downright uncomfortable to shoot.

You gotta hit what you are aiming at, and to me those 125's were a sure fire trip to flinch city.
