I have done this a few times over the years, and run into all kinds of folks. The nice ones and the ones who don't talk at all, "just want to get done and leave.
What do you guys look for when meeting a stranger for a swap, of a pistol?
I have a fellow who wants to meet up tomorrow, probablly right off the highway, and I never spoke to him, "till tomorrow" other than emails and texting. Says his gun is in new condition and only a few months old. Trading a M&P compact, for a shield 40. Mine has 50 rounds "the 40", and I find I would rather carry the compact and have the extra rounds.
The guns are about the same size other than the Mag capacity, I just have several small guns sitting around, and don't need, another 7 round pistol sitting around. I figure I will feel less like carrying a spare couple of mags with me.
Other than a quich function test, there isn't much You can check other than obvious ware, he has the paperwork, and so do I.
