What do you shoot in your .303 Enfield(or any other .303 rifle)?

I reload primarily, but I still have 3,000 rounds of the South African and some HXP too.

My guns vary, but most shoot around 2" groups. Some do better, some worse, but that's about average.

Cracked, I really don't know what size they drop from the mould, but I size straight wheel weight alloy to .314", lube them with RCBS pistol lube, and use a standard primer of any kind (in a S&B case). I'll tell you, I read an article (in Shotgun news) about loading down with cast bullets for Military rifles, and I've been impressed with thier accuracy ever since. Also, when using a bullet that is sized to groove diameter or .001" more, the fouling is non-existant, and acts like a .22 rimfire.... meaning shoot 'till your heart's content, and dont worry about cleaning. It seems the barrel fouls a slight amount, and THEN it becomes very accurate, and doesnt foul any more. Good shootin'!

I'll look for one of those moulds hten, they sound like just hte ticket....
I usually shoot 30-06, 8mm, .308, and 6.5x55 with a cast bullet using 2400.

Five shots at 100 yards.

174g MK's, IMR4064 Win. brass

Cost? Who cares!

And yes the Enfield lays down after 100 yards or more and the group will tighten up. Set your cold zero at 300 yards. I learned from talking to the top guys at Bisley that it's from receiver whip.

The only change I will make this year is brass from Graf's.

Cheers

Bought 3,000 rounds of Greek HXP years ago ($130 or so delivered). Boxer primed so started reloading the stuff. Still have two cases unopened so looks like a lifetime supply. The Greek stuff is pretty good but the handloads are more accurate.

Vern Humprey Re 303 Enfield Ammo

Contact me in reguard to those .22 Hornet loads. Like you I also
do some wild cat loading ie 30 Gibbs and 25/308. In reguard to 303,
limited amount of reloads, with moderate pressures seem to surpass
many of the military loads that I have used. Many are Bridan primed
and you can tell by glancing from the neck of the case. Single hole
in the center (boxer) with twin or double holes, Bredan. They are
reloadable put take a special decap tool and are a pain to work with.
All American loads are boxer primed!:)

didn't know you could get PMP ammo here in the United States.

Last I knew, my local dealer has it. The .303Brit stuff I got came from Cabela's, but they quit carrying it right after I got that first 100rds. I've been through my dealer's catalogs and couldn't seem to find the 174grSP stuff, but that don't mean it hasn't been added since last I looked.

Thanks Mustanger.

I loved PMP's swartklip .22lr ammo....very potent.
I used PMP a lot in the surplus .303's we had in S. Africa...good stuff. Accurate and hard hitting. Warthogs hated it :D
