I love my camo 500! I have a short barrel with iron sights and a longer one with beads. I also have every choke from Skeet to Special Turkey. This one gun can do it all and at a for very reasonable price. My sons shoot Maverick 88's, also by Mossberg. These are some of the best values your money will ever buy!
As far a smoothness, I don't have ANY problems with any of these guns. If yours isn't, put a few rounds through it and keep it clean and oiled.
